Only serious comments and suggestions in this thread - we need to work out the BBQ details ASAP

Okay, ive looked through the current posts on the BBQ comming up shortly. Id like to determine a destination now, which would help things along, since im hungry and want food fast !!!

Some suggestions made by various members of the forum so far:

1 - A location in or near the Royal national Park, located around Stanwell/Loftus

2 - Parramatta Park, or back to our roots and under Roseville Bridge.

3 - Kuringai National park, right next to the water. It is located just up the road from the D'albora Marina!

Where ever the BBQ location is, we need:
a) a lot of parking space
b) sealed roads or very short dirt roads
c) toilets
d) and an extra but not esential, nice scenery for some descent photos.

If we cannot determine a suitable location soon, then i suggest we head back to a BBQ area that we have been previously. Cordeux Dam down South West Provided a good basis for a BBQ last time.

If you live near a location that you think is suitable, please share it with us in this thread, please be aware that alot of cars do tend to come on these BBQ's and parking and nice roads are needed.

That would be good if you can check out the possible location. If anyone else wants to know what sort of bbq areas would be good, heres a link to the previous BDAY BBQ gallery

Well the last one was near the wollongong boys, I say we make them come to Sydney again :P ehehhe

I am not sure about everyone else, but Roseville was a damn nice place (easy to get to etc) when we were there last time.

I reckon it could be good, but I am open to other suggestions.

Parramatta park may be a bad idea as we dont want unwanted company.

I like the idea of somewhere near water, swimming etc.

We could try Manly Dam too. not sure about how much parking there is but its a nice spot?

There isn't a huge amount of parking, but if we get one of the good areas early we can grab heaps of spots. Seeings as its litterly two main streets from my place, I could rock up early and try and grab an area etc.

it was just an idea. has its advantages too. then again from there we cant go for a 'cruise' afterwards if people are up for that. In other areas it might be an option.

The more options we have at our disposal the better.

Just remmember everyone, that priorities of the BBQ area are:

1. Parking, and lots of it, preferably NOT in dirt. Grass should be okay.

2. Decent roads leading to the venue. NO massive speed humps and that crap

3. Toilets needed (since there will be girls attending)

One place i can suggest is at Chipping norton, it has some speed humps but nothing dramatic for most. Alot of parking, but its a crap neighbourhood (my local area), and no scenic views etc..

I say Ku-ring-gai national park 8) But on the other side, not the terry hills/akuna bay side.

Otherwise that spot we had the first BBQ at was pretty good, can't remember where it was exactly. Near frenches forest road I think?

Bicentennial park at Homebush.

It is free, has lots of parking, barbecues, toilets, a kiosk, no speed humps, a central location and its easy to get to. A lot of car clubs go there. You do generally need to get there earlyish to stake your claim

Blimey i totally forgot about Homebush !

That sounds good for me. I remmember the cordeux dam BBQ, the original meetup spot was at homebush Carpark C6, so most people should have no hassle getting there. :D
