hey, i have a '97 180 with a stock minidisc/cd headunit, but it won't play minidiscs. Does anyone have any idea why?? Would it be because it's formatted for Japan?

it will probably only play normal MDs but you might have the compressed MDs like the ones Sony have been using in their newer model MD recorders.

other than that its a little hard to diagnose an electronic problem over the net

Thanks guys, I got it working. It was a problem with the compression format.... all i had to do was change the format it recorded in!
