 Post subject: Help with tachometer

I have gone the ca to sr engine conversion and the sr dash did not have H.U.D on it so i put back in the ca dash now i have a problem that the tacho doesn't work i have heard this is a common problem with the dash so i just wanted to know if you put an aftermarket tacho on would the tacho work

In short - yes. Dumhed tells me that the signals the ECU sends the tacho are slightly different in the CA and SR, however it should be possible to run a CA tacho off an SR ECU with a resistor. What value and where to put it I don't know though....

It goes accross two of the connections on the back of the dash unit itself, i don't know the value either though. It's been ages since i have done one.
