hi all, half way through my last track a found a faily constant oil leak ( about a drop every 2 sec enough to cut my track day short ) and a small knock/rattle that some and goes at idle ( which might be timing chain tensioner)

oil is seeping around the front sump (stains from the top around the sides as well) and maybe bottom sump. i have a feeling my front oil seal my be damaged and need replacing

ok now i looked in the manual it says i have to take the head off, my engine has good compression so i don't really want to open it

will 'she be right' if i take the front sump out without replacing the head gasket or should i just suck it up and do it properly?
