I need your help because i've been gettin heaps of qoutes for T28's and GT turbos and i'm totally confused on what to get.

I can get a Hybrid T28 with T3 Internals (Bush Bearing), built with all "new" Garrett parts, nothing is reconditioned, balanced on CNC machine, good for 380hp for around $1150AU
Pic Below of it...

or a

Garrett GT28 BB good for 320hp for around $1400 from another place. These are the ones that you see everywhere now...

See thats why i'm confused, not sure what to get.

It's for a Silvia K's with full exhaust. front mount & airfilter. Fuel Pump on it's way...
Aiming for 200rwkw in the near future, I want get all the components setup before i do injectors and ecu.

What you guys think?

Should i go Ball Bearing or Bush Bearing?

Hi,

I've got a BB T28 in my S15 and it rocks! I suggest definately go for a BB turbo for faster spool up! Get the stock S15 unit, they should be fairly good value. GT cored BB units should be pretty good!

Here are some links to help you decide:

Has anyone got the 320hp version of the GT28? Is it good setup for the street? Whats the top end like?

Ray Hall up in queensland is the guy to ask if you want a garrett turbo.

personally,I wouldn't be buying anything from the US like the first example you listed above. americans have little to no idea about turbocharging and fuel injection.

If your aiming for around 200-220kw then just get a s15bb turbo, it will do the job and new you can get them for $1100, or second hand with low km for aroun $800-$900. good cheap upgrade.

Look up Homerrules on NS.com, he constantly has S15 turbos coming in from Japan ,which means they are JDM definately BB models.

About $850 max for a low kay example is the usual.

yeah but...i've had one bad dealing with him so i wouldnt say buy off him. but if you want to  (so much for low km good condition coilovers  ) never buy a turbo second hand without seeing it. Just isnt worth the hassle. i've been ripped twice doing it.

Buy brand new, just for that piece of mind. Coz its worth spending the extra money to know that there will be nothing wrong with it...!

Go for GT28BB 380ps. I friend has one on his 180, and this thing rips hard. He was pulling 234rwkw on 18psi. Obviously you got your ECU, Injectors, pump, cooler etc... but still STOCK internals...!

PLENTY OF POTTENTIAL..!

Anyways after allot of shopping around i've picked up a turbo for my S13.

It's a T28 of a S15, 2000 Km's on it. I got it for a good price i think. Payed $575 for it. Worth it?

I still haven't checked the ID tag yet but i'm assuming its bush bearing. But it might be a Ball Bearing. It's 0.60 A/R front 0.64A/R rear.
