There was a thread on www.niisansilvia.com about how much everyone hated the official GTR concept of a while back. I personally love it, I just think it needs a few detail changes to bring it to reality. So I did this:

Image

The headlights have been changed to something more conventional, something meaner. R34 based.

The rear has a few subtle changes, but still doesn't look quite right. Bumper surface under lights added, as well as shortened. Lights made smaller and moved wider to make whole rear look wider. Angle of bootlid changed so that instead of sloping down it is horizontal. Rear glass lengthened subsequently. I resisted the urge to add arear spoiler although I don't think it would have looked that bad.

Without those old headlights to stare at you can focus on how wedgy and wide the front is. The guards are pumped and the bonnet is very wide.

Base pics plus more:

Would others care to comment on my chop, the original and perhaps do chops of their own on the concept car or an R34 as a base.

We want to find the best version of the next GTR 8)

Definately an improvement, but the R34 will always be the ultimate imho... Then again - that's probably what people said about the 33... and the 32... The s14a... auto CA18 180... I could go on for days, but you get the point.

Great job! I think the R34 ish front likes look much nicer. I am a bit mixed between the back shots though. Yours is more refined and realistic, but I think the original concept rear looks reminiscent to JGTC cars, in the way that various angles meet somewhat abruptly.

This looks fun, I might give it a go.

When I get more time I'm going to do a proper line drawing from scratch. Proper uni style one.
