hey guys, just wanted to know what fluids/lubricants others have used in a 180sx with sr20det, and how many litres do i need for each for the following?

diff, gearbox, brakes, power steering

so far this is what i remember, but please correct me if i'm wrong.

diff - 1.8L- GL-5. - castrol syntrax 75w90, any others?
gearbox - 2.4L - GL-4. - castrol vmx80 75w85 or motylgear 75w80, 75w90 or redline shockproof lightweight?
brakes - ?? litres - dot 3 - any suggestions?
power steering - ?? litres - dexron III - any suggestions? use any?

so yeah as you can see i'm in a dilemma on what fluids/lubricants i should use and how many litres. any help or advice u guys can give would be appreciated.

500ml for the brake fluid
alot of people recommend Motual RBF600

SR20 Gearbox need approx 2.5L

Is the motual engine oil?

What other oils do people use in their SR20-DET's.

Someone suggested going to nissan to get the oil they reccomend.

any comments?

i ended up buying redline oils for both the diff and gearbox. now i know why u guys call it smurfblood

gearbox i used shockproof heavy.. my gearbox is dead now (but I don't think it's directly related to the heavy) In hindsight I will now be using shockproof light or redline gmx80 or whatever is there other gearbox fluid.

Diff = shock proof heavy, dono how much as I haven't done it yet.

Engine = motul 8100 5/40 (alotta people seem to use it and it comes out a nice colour when it's emptied, not too cloudy not too clear)

Brakes - redline rbf600 seems nice with good pads

power steering - i use any (i think i was at a BP servo at the time)


If your diff is a mechanical make sure you get fluid for mechanical diffs
