hey guys,

debating of getting a Trust power extreme 2 catbak. Was wondering if anyone has this on a s15 or similar and whether its loud? I did a search and everyone has mixed feeling regarding this.

My current one is loud so i think so was thinking of getting something quieter.
Anyone got good suggestions for front/dump pipe? Ive been told the flyn ones arent bad... Any advice is appreciated.

IMO its quite compared to say HITEC.
Fujitsubo is also quite.
On idle its tame- in boost- it gives a nice bark. Nothing excessive.
Hmm- another way to put it perhaps- when we had a dyno night- when my car went on the rollers- I thought gee's this is quite- compared to many many of the others.
The PE2 mid muffler sits a tad low for my liking that is all.

The FLYN dump I had cracked after about 10 months. Replaced it with some no name one from ADVAN which has done its job for over 12 months now.
Is it the "gasket/flange" that tends to go on the SR's?? Someone will will correct me. Not enough flex somewhere..

I've got 1 for my S13, and at idle it is quiet, just slightly louder than stock. Once u start driving, it's got a nice sound, but not intrusive.

To tell u the truth, I was disappointed at how quiet it was at idle when I first fired it up after install. I'm used to loud exhausts on my bikes, but I'm pass that phase now. Dont need to get attention wherever I go.

The biggest plus for me is the quality of the exhaust... the finish, the welds, the fit - absolutely perfect. For me it's art. I would hang it on my wall if it wasnt used on the car... much to the objection of my gf.

Still on stock dump\front at the mo., but I'm sensing a 3" dump\front pipes in my xmas stocking.

Cheers.

i think most ppl have this exhaust mixed up with the trust power evolution.. which is way louder than the peII..

anyways.. i've got the peii cat-back on my 180.. its nice and quiet on idle and also has a good tone when on boost.. my only problem is the muffler sits a tad too low but other than that its a great exhaust!

as for dump/front.. i've got a genuine tomei dump and bfr front pipe couldn't be happier.. works well and haven't had any problems..

I have an xforce full system and a friend has the trust extreme on his performance i don't really think there is much difference but his is a lot softer on idle than mine and once we hit boost it sounds quite sexy actually

I've had the Power Extreme II catback on the car for a few weeks now... It's really quiet on idle (can hardly notice the difference) and is about the right level IMHO everywhere else in the revs. And yeah, it'll sing when you give it a boot full!!

Jap made quality doesn't hurt either!

Power Extreme II comes in 2 types, mild steel and stainless. THey made the ms version first, then ss. The ms was super quiet, the ss more louder. You also have to consider how modified your car is. If you only have a cat-back, it's obviously going to be hell quiet compared to a car thats got 250kw

Hehe i actually bought my MS Trust PEII of mxfly and can confirm that the MS version is super quiet, but like most exhausts it opens up when you push the car gives a real clean note as well.

how does fuji and trust compare to bigger companies' exhausts like hks and stuff

and if possible..
what about smalelr companies from japan also like 5 zigen, gp sports..?

jus out of curiousity..
from what ive seen.. most smaller companies like gp sports aim at more flow.. less quieter exahusts.. what do ppl think in relation to trust?

I'll update too.

Since then, I've fitted the dump\front pipe with the Trust PE II.

Slightly deeper sound, boost comes on earlier and harder [more flexible midrange, very handy]. Nice turbo noises even with stock airbox.

Downside, cannon is so fat it scraps on steep driveways and u have to crawl over humps. I dont mind, but I hope the car behind dont hit me. If I could do it again, I'll source a twin pipe muffler so there is more ground clearance.

Still a bit quiet at idle and just crusing around, but opens up nicely when fanging.
