This is an extract from my own forum, which perhaps you might be interested in...

I find that no one does any more.... ?
I'm not sure why, i'm debadged with turbo mag's, colour coding and headlight eyelids and muffler...(and "number plates" haha)...
However, i've noticed a severe lack of people wanting to traffic light drag any more...... ?
Is it the astra, or has everyone noticed a general lack of people wanting to drag?
They don't even challenge me any more.... when i DO try, i get to the end of first and they give up!!! WTF!
Anyone?!

What are YOUR experiences then?

For me, It's only been a couple of times in nearly two years that anyone's dared me to drag between the lights, I really couldn't be bothered taking their bait; I'm way beyond that s**t.

Besides, the only types who drag between the lights as far as I can tell, are Poofter Habibs and Ricers in their WRX's and GTi-Swifts.

I take the greatest of pleasure in having their sorry arses busted by Blue Mountains Highway Patrol too! Image

who's going to even attempt dragging a barina? Just kidding mate...

Most people that seem to want to drag have a "P" on their car somewhere... most times you just laugh at em flooring their old piece of crap whatever and let them have their fun...

true, only P platers (like myself) ahaha try to race me in crappy cars, mainly lebos (no offence) in corllas' civics, swfits, MIRAGE (the most), all the crappy hatch cars seem to always try to race me....sometime holdens too haha business men in a hurry lol. One thing i DO notice too is when another silvia pulls up, i NEVER drag it lol, and they tend not to drag me, but skylines are assholes, they pretned to NOT race u by shifting early then they thrash the hell out of 2nd

i wouldnt waste my time with a barina. petrol is too expensive these days..

if ur driving a barina, then it seems the only cars u can race would be the poofter habibs in their fully sick mirages and swifts.. wouldnt they be your competition? my sister has an auto astra. if u want, i'll borrow it and give u a run...

Mostly no one tries anything though which suits me.

Nearly every second set of lights someone will rev their motor and gun it.
Mainly commodores, actually mainly SS utes.
Sometimes I teach them a lesson, others I get whipped, but most of the time I resist and play it safe.

If I pull up to the lights with a P plater in a hatch, WRXs, or grey imports, they'll generally want to give me a go.

I'll usually let them race off and feel good about beating me in their little pieces of shit, unless someone manages to piss me off enough to actually drop the hammer and go for it.

I once had a P-plater in an R32 GTS-t with the world's worst sounding exhaust nail it at a few sets of lights next to me. I was fine watching him waste petrol until he launched it, and then ran half into my lane around a sweeping bend.

At the next set of lights, when the road tightens up with a few switchbacks, I revved it out and stayed with him. When we hit the bends, I let him hit the brakes (he knew I was there, and I guess he had the intelligence to not try his last turning move and hitting my car).

Maverick-style, I flew right by with him heavily under brakes, took the switchbacks on an even throttle without braking while staying in one lane, and I put about a half dozen car lengths on exit.

I hit the hazards and then heavily braked when he exited the bends, dropping back to the below speed limit, and then waved to him as he shot past me in the straight.
