The best bet is to get a multimeter set it on AMPS disconnect the positive terminal from the battery and place in series between the disconnected positive terminal and the positive terminal on the battery. Start on the 10amp setting as your alarm etc may draw a bit of current. Then arm your vehicle if you have an alarm and see what the current draw is. Should be 20-50mA there abouts due to digital clocks etc. You'll find out pretty quick if it's a couple of hundred milliamps then you have a current draw somewhere. If all is normal then at least you know it's definately a battery problem before you go out and purchase another one.

The other thing to test when your cars running is the charge voltage. Place the multimeter on the battery it should be about 14Volts if it's 12etc then you know it's a charging issue.

Hope this helps if you hav'nt got a multimeter already ther only like $20 from Dick Smith etc

I had a 650 in my car for basicly 12months.
It wouldnt hold charge for more than 24hrs even when it was brand new.

Still I persisted to jump start the car to get it going all the time with no real issues. One day I had been driving all day, got back home and turned the car off and I heard a bubbling sound like the radiator had boiled over, popped the bonnet and the battery was farked, white steam/smoke was coming out of it and every surface of the battery was warped, just like it had been in a fire.

Replaced it with a supercheap $49- special and relocated it to the boot and now the car seems to last a good month + without having to jump start. :D

I will never buy another oddesy battery again - very dissapointed...

naa piss easy to relocate to the boot. Just be mindful which direction you route the 1-2 gauge cable through.

Pricing wasnt too bad, aronnd $100- for the battery box, brackets, wiring and connectors.

so - $100- (parts) $49- (battery) = roughly $150-..

Although I didnt use one, an isolator (spelling?) switch would be very benificial.

i had an odyssey 650. it was not very lightweight and if i didnt drive my car after 3 days, the car wont start. this battery is the replacement they shop gave me as the first was faulty. this one is meant to be from a different batch but it still sux. i switched back to the factory battery now. much better.

my experience with odyssey is sour. my brother has odessey 850 in his car and that wont start after 7 days. we both have factory stereos.
