Any one ever had there VCT locked on all the time befor?

I think he means constantly on,as in advanced all the time.
the rattle is usually only there at idle and disappears by around 1500rpm.

Juzzo,do you have access to a consult or appropriate scan tool to check the solenoid operation? if not,I have a spare solenoid here that you could try.

Yeah VCT on all the time, like soon as i start the car, unplugging the soliniod makes no diferance.

You know when u have the rattle and you hear the VCT solinoid fire at 1500rpm it dose that state away, i would think gunk was stuck in the actul VCT gear but its a track car only these days and dosent get any where near 1k befor a service and befor that every 2.5k so yeah oil always comes out cleanish and no gung in head last few times i have had rocker cover off so dont think its that.

I spun out on waki the other week and car stalled, restarted it and VCT been stuck on since then.

No consult as i have Power FC, maybe ill see if there is any thing in the datalogger part in settings..

if you go into the sensor check screen it will show you the vct switching on and off.

If the pfc is showing it as dropping in and out as it should then you've obviously got a mechanical problem.
