i just rang them. Nice people. I cant remeber who I spoke to, but i just wanted a "ballpark figure" on a Comprehnsive Insurance since im due renewal with Just cars soon. I didnt have a clue what NCB% or Rating I am. I turned out to be a 30% and Rating 4. Which im quite happy with and got quoted for $1600, which can be paid monthly. I rang Just Cars who ive been with for 2 years and they quoted me for $2344, which has to be paid upfront. I'm bit surprised coz when i got my car 2 years ago, I got quotes from Insrurers like$3k-$7k, i felt like spewing then, its like buying a Silvia every year. So i had to settle with 3rd party, which i didnt mind. Plus they are the only Insurance company that i shared a laugh with over the phone, and thats good since I work for the Customer Service in Telecommunications Industry.

Excellent !

I am up for renewal of my policy in February next year, so interested to see if it goes down due to NCB etc :)

I ain't insured and don't intend to, they are as bad as the criminals themselves.

F#&K them all and arm yourself with a shotgun. No man and his dog will be stealing your ride if you pack'n some heat!

Word and a'men to that!

no offence, but thats a pretty stupid comment...

you cant keep one eye on your car 24/7, your bound to leave it somewhere (like a carpark or at work/uni) unattended for atleast a few hours... you cant do anything to stop criminals from stealing your car then.

I know insurance companies charge stupid prices for imports, but thats because so many import owners wrap their cars around poles..... that and they are so popular for the scum/theive type to steal. So although insurance companies are mostly ripping us off, you'll be glad you have the insurance the day your pride and joy gets flogged.

Just my 5 cents.....

Hi everyone i called famous for a quote on insurance for my s15, i tried to get an online quote through their website and got the following error. You can try it yourself, i tried it at home and at work both with no success.

Image

Yesterday i called them for a quote and noone got back to me, they said they couldnt give a quote over the phone. So i called back today having tried the site and received an error. A lady on the phone said she cant do anything if i "cant get on the website". Now clearly it is an error on their website but every insurance company i know of will give you a quote on the phone.

She was no help what so ever when i asked her what can i do to get a quote. Her only answer was to use the website. What if you have to make a claim i can just imagine the hassles you might have to organise this.

I will be going with a different company because of this.
