For those of you who are trying to get reasonably priced full comprehensive insurance then this is your chance. If you sign up with Famous Car Insurance and mention that you are part of the Silvia Club of NSW and provide them with the appropriate details then they can help you save money !! They say that if you provide them with your current renewal pricing from other insurers they will be able to beat it by at least 10% for you. They cover modifications for your car as long as they are legal and disclosed to them when getting the insurance. They also provide Pay By The Month insurance at an extra 10% which means you can get the same price insurance as anywhere else but pay it by the month, thats pretty darn good if you ask me !!! With pay by the month you are required 2 upfront months payments and then the rest of the payments are on the 25th of the following months. All you need to do to get started is either call Tommy / Robin and get a quote or fill out an application form which can be downloaded from their site: http://www.famousinsurance.com.au/forms/application.pdf Just for an example: Myself 22 years old, 1 accident and 1 speeding fine (both over 3 years ago), driving an S13 SR20DET with agreed value of $10,000 was quoted $1,200.00 inc GST per year. A few people from these forums have also been quoted or have used Famous Car Insurance themselves (e.g. white180sx and DumHed and soon to be myself, mayhem). The more ppl from the club that sign up the better it gets, they have offered to sponsor us with trophies and prizes for events that we wish to hold in the future, eg Best Car at a meet etc. So make sure you speak to Tommy or Robin and Famous Car Insurance on 1300-88-60-29 or visit the website http://www.famousinsurance.com.au/ |

have you thought to look on their site? they are really nice people, the only thing id be concerned is, how many people have actually claimed with them? from memory i read somewhere that their underwriting company is actually the same business. im not saying theyre dodgy at all, just to be cautious and think it all through and make your own decisions. having said that they gave me a great quote on a 200sx a month ago ill certainly be going with them when i eventually get rid of the sss. |

They paid up on my claim with no worries, but the communication between them (being in Perth) and people over here was pretty bad, rersulting in my car disappearing from the towie's storage yard, appearing at an auction house, going up for sale with no authorisation (thanks to Koss for spotting it on the web the night before it would have been sold!), having parts stolen, the auction house getting the rego cancelled so they could keep the residual dollars, the car being driven into by a fork lift and further damaged, and finally when they delivered the broken car back to me they put it right in my drive way so no one could get in or out... The actual insurance company was very helpful, and thanks to my extensive use of their toll free number most things were sorted out, but it took a long time (~5 weeks). I'm still dealing with the auction house to get the damage they caused fixed, and stolen bits replaced (nice gear knob, etc) |

How did you get on with the cancelled registration?? My insurance comp did that but now they havent taken ownership of the car. So now i have no rego but the cara is drivable (barely) Now i have to do blue slip AFTER the car is repaired to get it registered again. Also, the care is listed on the write off list so i can never sell it. Stoopid insurance comps! |
